"Energy Centers" at Christ Community Church
Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 10:42AM The atrium at Christ Community Church in St. Charles, Illinois functioned more like a hall connecting various spaces. People passing through to their ministry destination created a “highway” feel - either high speed traffic or congested backups. A central information counter served as a focal point in an otherwise large and empty space. The church was looking for designated traffic patterns along with new “energy centers.”
People involved in Spirit-led ministry create high level energy centers. Therefore, Wildesign Group designed furniture pods where ministry can occur. Pods of various formality and social connecting distances provide a context for anyone’s comfort zones. Now, people can move quickly to their destinations or enjoy a rest stop for spiritual refueling. A refurbished information counter simplifies attenders’ decision making. New paint, brick veneer, carpet, and signage accent the energy centers with added vigor.
Assessing Your Recent Project

BuildingForMinistry.com explores ministry and facility issues through the Cornerstone Knowledge Network and our friends at Christianity Today. A recently posted article by Jim Rodgers, We Built It. . . But. . . They Didn't Come explores why some building projects do not produce the anticipated growth.
It provides seven questions to assess the impact of a recently completed project.
1. Does your facility "Wag the dog?"
2. Does your building project fit your ministry need?
3. Do you have Temple Trauma?
4. Do you have Change Freeze?
5. Are your pillars in place?
6. Did a strong majority support the changes?
7. Did you put it on the card?
We'll also have this article posted soon on our Resources page.
Calvary Under Construction

Calvary Bible Church in Lacon, IL is making great progress during construction. The picture of the cross going up reminds me of the Iwo Jima statue. Instead of raising the American flag, these men are raising the cross.
Initially hesitant to start Phase 1, they took steps of faith and God moved in hearts. Now, they’re not only completing Phase 1, but part of Phase 2! God is good.
